Candle care & safety

When burning your candle for the first time allow the wax to melt until the wax pool extends close to the edge. This will prevents tunneling.

Trim the wick 8mm before each burn. Proper trimming ensures that your beeswax candle will burn with a strong, bright, beautiful flame.

Ensuring the safe and proper use of our candles is our priority and we advise you follow the below steps:

  • NEVER leave a burning candle unattended
  • NEVER burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time
  • Burn candle out of reach of children and pets
  • When burning a few candles, keep them at least 7 cm apart so they don’t heat and melt each other.
  • Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire
  • Burn Candles in a suitable container. If the container is damaged, don’t use it to burn a candle as the heat might cause more damage. Also make sure your holders are heat resistant and non-flammable
  • Trim wick to about 5-10mm before lighting
  • Don’t burn a candle all the way down. We recommend leaving 5mm of wax in the container
  • Be careful when blowing out a candle. We recommend snuffing a candle, or dipping the wick in the melted wax, rather than blowing it out. “Blowing” a candle out may cause hot wax to be spread.
  • Keep the wax pool clear and clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring.
  • ALWAYS remove decorations before burning!
